I use a 2 way optical splitter so I can go to my soundbar AND to my Aluratek. This way I can mute or control the soundbar & use my headphones separately.

I use it with my Iphone so I can play my music on my surround sound system. It works great for that purpose. I hope other people will chime in too because I am not 100% sure so don't count on my opinion to be a definitive answer. One thing you didn't mention is whether your sound bar or earphones/headphones are bluetooth compatible? Since your TV is not bluetooth then a physical connection is required between your TV and your Aluratek bluetooth. Hopefully you have a optical output on your TV, if so use the included optical cable that came with the Aluratek. Plug it into the TX side of the Aluratek from the TV. It's not a very long cable however so you would need to located the Aluratek close to the TV or us a longer optical cable. You would have to set the Aluratek TX/RX button To TX. This would hopefully transmit the TV sound via bluetooth to other devices. The set up I mentioned of course would only work if your earphones and Soundbar have bluetooth capability. Aluratek claims you can simultaneously connect to two devices at the same time. If there is a App or physical volume control for your earphones and soundbar then for sure you could control your volume individually. That all said I have only used the RX function of the Aluratek and I have never used a bluetooth headphones or soundbar so I am in part speculating on how they should work.
