Yes, I have my Alurstek plugged into an analog TV and it works fine. I use a digital antenna to connect to the Aluratek as well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. An antenna is an antenna. It will either recognize the required frequencies, or it will not. If you have any VHF stations in your area, be aware most recent antennas do a lousy job with VHF. A powered antenna attempts to protect the signal strength from the antenna to the signal destination (in this case, converter box). These can be useful when you have a long path from the antenna to the "receiver". If you are close to towers, the power could actually reduce the quality with over gain. Basically, there is no difference between the antennas used years ago and the current (HD marketed) ones. If you want to use this converter box to allow you to use your old TV, you can connect the antenna coax to the converter and then either another coax from the RF out to your TV coax input, or (if available) you could use the composite RCA (red, white, and yellow) output for your TV. If the TV is not quite as old, your may have an HDMI or component (red, green, and blue) input available on your TV. If component, you will need to connect the audio output to the audio input of the TV.
