“Our venting goes into the ceiling, then horizontally thru the house wall, where there's a damper. Amana has a damper at the microwave. (1) Will the two dampers in series make the airflow ineffective? (2) Can we remove Amana’s damper if need be?”

Hi Walt, the wall cap has a backdraft damper. This information can be found in the Venting Design Specifications in the installation guide.
