A:Answer Hi Court. This is a serious problem that I solved this morning. I don't know why Amana in its wisdom doesn't know that us hand washers of delicate things and wool sweaters need a spin-only cycle.
Here's what you do: With nothing in the washer, set the pointer to the "drain/spin" cycle and press the "START pause/UNLOCK LID" button. The "sensing fill" light will go on, but it soon gives up and turns off since there's no weight in the washer. The "final spin" light goes on. Press the START button to unlock the lid, open the lid, dump in your wet things, close the lid, press START again, et voila! After a thorough spin, the "cycle complete" light goes on, and there you are. I'm so happy this works!
