A very important question. The ability to get local broadcast channels, subchannels, especially low power ones, depends on the quality of the antenna, wiring, and the tuner sensitivity. Hisense has atsc 2.0 tuners, while they are not next gen tv atsc 3.0, they have much better reception than some much more expensive name brands. My 43" Hisense for $200 gets many more channels than the $650 Sony with the next gen tuner.

There are options to scan for channels, add and delete channels, assign favorites, etc. There is a dedicated channel on the main screen as well as a programmable button on the remote for "live" television viewing.
