A:Answer Hello Patricia,
Thank you for you question! So ADT devices and services can be used your Fire HD 10, but not through an app. There is an Alexa skill that you can enable that will allow your voice to control your ADT devices. An Alexa skill is like an app, but must be enabled through your Alexa app.
Here is how to do it:
Find the Alexa app and search the skills and games section for ADT then click on
enable button
- Log into your ADT account on the Fire tablet. You will need to use your ADT username and password, NOT the Amazon password.
- Establish a four digit PIN.
If you can do that, you will link your ADT Pulse account to the Alexa device. For reference, here are the commands you must use, and say them EXACTLY as they are typed below – please note the “xxxx” represents the four digit PIN you will establish:
"Alexa, ask ADT to arm the system."
"Alexa, ask ADT to arm the system stay."
"Alexa, ask ADT to arm the system away."
"Alexa, ask ADT to disarm the system with xxxx."
"Alexa, ask ADT to check the status of the security system."
"Alexa, ask ADT to lock the Front Door Lock."
"Alexa, ask ADT to unlock the Front Door Lock with xxxx."
"Alexa, ask ADT to turn off the Light."
"Alexa, ask ADT to turn on the Light."
"Alexa, ask ADT to close the Garage Door."
"Alexa, ask ADT to open the Garage Door with xxxx."
For commands that require a PIN, your Amazon Alexa device will understand if you say: "Alexa, ask ADT to open the Garage Door with PIN 8674" OR "Alexa, ask ADT to open the Garage Door with 8674," assuming 8674 is the PIN you established upon setup for the ADT skill.
I hope this helps!
