“What I would like to know is can the 10 do the same tasks as my old 11" Kindel. I have 15 books on my old Kindel. Can I download them to the new Fire 10 HD? In other words can I have the best of both worlds + internet & app access?”

You can access your books that you have purchased from any of your Amazon devices. They are all stored in the cloud and all you have to do is sign into your Amazon account on whichever device you want to use. After you sign in on your new HD 10 you can click on Books and you should see your books that you had on your Kindle.
