No you cannot connect directly to you Apple Music. It only does Pandora Radio, Spotify, Amazon Music and a hundió if others. I don't know if there is a "skill" that it can learn to play Apple Music. No luck so far.

Apple does not play well with other.
So far only a few pay services are allowed. 
You can upload 250 songs to Amazon Music for free.
Any more cost $. Not sure why you can't stream from PC.

I play my music off my phone through the dot. There are many music apps that work with the Amazon Dot. Again look to see which ones.

Amazon Music, Spotify, Pandora, iHeartRadio and Tunein are the only ones listed.

For third party music cloud platform it only supports linking to iHeart, Pandora, Spotify.

It doesn't support Google Music or Apple Music. It was one of my biggest disappointment.

Yes. Amazon gives you several options for your music services. 

It's simply a matter of opening the Alexa program on your phone select music under services and choose your venue Viola!!
