• Turn off what exactly? Depending on the device and if it’s compatible with Alexa you can turn On and turn off items. I use it for my tv, sound bar and Philips hue lights which are all Alexa compatible.

• I don't believe so. In fact, Amazon submitted a patent request for how they want to keep Alexa on all the time and record things in the background. In fact, you can go back and hear everything Alexa has recorded

• Yes, you have to get an app for your smartphone to give the light a name. I named mine LAMP. Works great. I just say, Alexa, turn my ‘lamp’ on or off.
