A:AnswerYou can mute the Alexa. That way it can be used strictly as a speaker. I would recommend something else honestly because at low to normal volume it is great but at higher volume it distorts. A standard Bluetooth speaker would do you better I think. JBL makes a good range of speakers and I have used quite a few of them.
A:AnswerAs long as it has a 3.5 mm audio input in the back (and my older Bose Wave radio does), yes, you can use it. You will just need a short cable with the 3.5 mm connection at both ends. You connect it to the audio outpput on the Echo Dot, and the audio input on the Bose. Then you set your Bose to "AUX" and you will hear the Echo through your Bose. I also have an older Echo Dot that I'm using with a Bose SoundDock and it works fine.
A:AnswerIt's easy to set-up, but you will have to have WiFi. I imagine you have WiFi since you have a computer. It's super easy. You will like it, and you can run other products like smart plugs that will turn on lights and other things.
A:AnswerYes, the 3rd generation Echo Dot does come with a power cord, however it is a 15 watt plug as compared to the older 5 watt plug on the Echo Dot 2nd generation. No big deal, however the 15 watt plug is bigger ... meaning there may be issues with how much space it takes up on a power strip.
A:AnswerHello Rich! Yes you can connect the device to your TV through the Bluetooth settings in your TV. You can also get another Echo Dot and link them together using the Alexa app you use to set up your device. This would give you stereo sound through those devices as well. Thanks so much for your question and I hope you have a great day!
A:AnswerHello! Yes, you can use the Echo Dot with the Ring Doorbell. While it doesn't have a screen, you can have the Echo Dot alert you when someone is at the door. I hope that helps. Have a great day!
A:AnswerHello, Alexa currently doesn't support Chinese as a language you can set. But, there may be some Chinese content in the Skills & Games section of the Alexa app.
A:AnswerNo, you do not need an Echo to run the Dot.
You will need an internet connection and you will have to download the Alexa app on your phone or tablet to set up the Dot.
