• Hi Dannika! The main difference between Echo Pop and Echo Dot are some of the advanced features of the Dot. Specifically the Pop lacks the Motion Detection and Temperature sensors of the Echo Dot 5th gen. Otherwise you'll have access to all the same great Alexa features with either device! • The echo dot works great. Have 5 actually that have been in use for 5 or more years. Had this pop for less than 4 months and it no longer powers on. Piece of crap.

• Whether it be the 1st, 2nd or 3rd generation Dot, the sound quality produced by this device sound superior because the sound is more directional than diffuse.
