Yes, you can play from both simultaneously, or one or the other. But why play the Dot, especially if in the same room? The Dot is far less musical than the Studio. If not grouped there can be synchronicity issues.

To do this, go to the Alexa app, click the Devices tab on the bottom right corner of the screen, then click the "+" symbol in the top right corner. From there, select "Combine Speakers", then choose "Multi-room music". Select the speakers on the list that you wish to group together, then you're done! Hope this helps!
