Q: QuestionDoes this require a data plan?

• A:Answer Hello! The Fire HD 8 Kids Edition does not require a data plan. You just connect it to the internet when you want to use things that require the internet, but you do not need it to be connected to the internet all of the time. Certain apps will require the internet and others do not. Have a great day!

Q: QuestionDo you need to have a subscription to Amazon Prime to get games and apps on the device? Does this allow you to use the google play store app as well?

• A:Answer Hello @Superdad, You do not need a paid a Paid Prime account to use. You can set up a free one and go from there. Certain apps (depends on the developer) ask you to pay for their app, but there are thousands of free ones and all you need is an internet connection to download. Unfortunately, the Google Play Store is not available on the Amazon Fire Tablet Platform. Hope this info helps. Have a great day!

• A:Answer Hello, From the pull down menu at the top of the tablet, go to settings and parental controls. When setting up it should also walk you through the process, or you can visit the parent dashboard on parents.amazon.com to get even more customized settings.

• A:Answer Tablet is WiFi enabled but it does not come with a data plan. You need to connect the tablet to an available WiFi when outside. If you have Amazon membership you can download the content at home WiFi and view it on the go even though there is no WiFi available when traveling.
