• It would be perfect. It comes with Amazon free time. You can choose games for that age level

• Definitely. Just be prepared to spend a little time learning to operate the "adult" side of the tablet, and get yourself a 32 GB micro-SDHC so you don't run out of memory. Also so the apps/videos/books load quicker since they'll be downloaded to the card.
