What does this do null

Fire TV Blaster is a companion device that works with your Echo and Fire TV devices to voice control your entertainment experience.

It's used if you already have an Echo device other than a Fire TV Cube (already has IR) and need to control an infrared device by voice. I use mine on an older TV to control volume, inputs, power and sleep control.
