“While this product appears to work great on 4K TVs, would it work on a 2009 Samsung Plasma TV? I don't have external speakers so if it does work on the TV , I'm assuming the sound would come through the TV's speakers. Correct?”

I ended up purchasing and it does work just fine. Even the voice control to turn off and on the tv, and raise/lower the volume. It seems to get confused when I ask it to go to Fox4 News. Its unable to find it although when I asked it to go to CNN it does find it on Hulu and transfers me to it. Hit and miss on the stations at times.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.While I have not done this with that model TV I think everything should work fine. Sound would come from the TV speakers. As long as there is an available HDMI input I think you are good to go. Great device. Love Alexa control.
