No you don’t, it’s already built in on the device
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.By "that Alexa box" you probably mean Amazon Echo line of products (Echo Dot, Echo Show, etc.). The answer is No. You only need one of the Amazon FireTVs that are compatible with this remote and that should have been specified somewhere in the Compatibility section. The remote just allows you to push the microphone on the remote to speak into it and control the FireTV with your voice. You could also ask it things like the weather, and other questions you would normally ask of the Echo products.
