The Fire Stick requires you to set up an Amazon account and provide a credit card number. However, you don't have to buy anything from Amazon. Many streaming services such as Netflix require you to subscribe to their services. For example, I have AT&T streaming television and pay $60.00 per month for it. Hope this helps.
