You have to have a smart tv to be able to hook up the fire stick. It has to be plugged into HDMI slot on back of tv

You cannot use the Fire Stick in your cable box. You can get a good sized new TV that will work with the Fire Stick for a few hundred dollars. If you want to stick with your old TV then search the web for hdmi to component with audio converter.

Or you could also buy an adapter for your TV , if the cable box don't work.
