I can Hit the talk button which takes you to Alexa for a search across all of your platforms such as HULU, HBO, Netflix, Prime, and many more. I also have Wemo switches throughout our house and can control them by telling Alexa to turn on Kitchen light. It can absolutely act as a stand-alone unit or it can be linked to the others.
