I currently have DirectTV and frankly I’m sick of paying over $100 a month for over 60 shopping and infomercials and a bunch of music channels that I don’t want. If I get this and subscribe to Hulu will I get actual content. What about local channels? Tks null

For Hulu, you would need to subscribe to Hulu Live to get what cable offers. It's about $44 a month. They offer a trial so you can try it out for a week before you commit. For me, I'm getting more channels than on Dish tv. 
For the regular Hulu that is just $5.99 per month, you would get all the same content that a regular Hulu subscription offers. (The pre-recorded content).
Also, check out Direct TV Now and Sling as cheaper alternatives to cable. Good luck!

I prefer Playstation Vue, the guide is user friendly and you get the local channels too. I wasn't impressed with Hulu.

You can get directv now on the fire stick, they have different packages ranging from $50 or more with different channel lineups. That’s what we use and we are happy with it.

Local channels are best with an antennae. As far as streaming, Hulu and sling are great for cable channels and Hulu is good for movies.

If you find someone to install kodi and buffering apps on the firestick you'll be set. Get rid of direct TV. AND get the best modem and router available and all you'll pay is internet and you can get every single channel. Questions, look me up in mount joy pa on facebook. Names above.

Yes you get content, as for live tv they offer a subscription for that as well through HULU, local channels will depend on your market as they are available in some areas but not all.
