• Hello Penny. You will have to pay for any news or sports app that does not offer a free subscription Most of those free ones are connected to your subscription to cable. So in closing. In order to view news or sports on the fire stick you more than likely will have to pay for cable. It's just and extension of your cable subscription. Unless you get the firestick "jail broken." Google that. You're welcome.
