• You must keep it plugged in. It does not display wirelessly, and you need to defiantly power source like a USB port or an electrical outlet to plug into. The HDMI port will not provide enough electricity to power the stick.

• I just use mine on my TV but I imagine if you use your computer the Firestick has to be connected to the HDMI to whatever device you use. Then you can use your remote.
