I would say no. I have a Dot in the hallway about 10 or so feet from the sofa and about 15 feet from the TV (apartment). I do talk more quietly into the remote, rather than how I speak to Alexa on the Dot, and haven't had any issues with my Dot over-hearing my request. That has been my experience. So, again, ... No, it shouldn't be a problem unless your other device has sensitive hearing.
