Check out videos on installing KODi. It opens up a world of possibilities. The best way to get local channels is add an antenna, I purchased the firestick with an antenna and a subscription to DirectTv now. We don't miss anything, and pay less than $100 per month. Just make sure you have very good internet speed, or the buffering week be too annoying.

However, you can also download, and install Kodi, (a little involved, but google for directions and it's easy enough. Than download, VIA kodi, another app, like Exodus to access a lot more, for free. I don't know if it's legal or not to use what these downloads allow you to access.
