“When watching a show, there is a screeching sound -- sometimes for a split second, others a few seconds -- then the program goes on as if nothing happened. This happens on both fire sticks -- living room & bedroom. I have very high speed internet?!”

It could be your wireless router just doesn't have the range for both sticks. Try unplugging everything for a minute and see if that helps. You can also try moving the router around to improve your reception. There are phone apps that can help you with wifi reception quality
