There is little practical difference between the Roku and Amazon Fire TV stick, as they ultimately do the same thing - which is to organize and utilize thousands of apps and programs to view TV shows, thousands of movies and documentaries. It's like the Macbook and PC computers - slightly different command controls but they all do the same thing - productivity tools, internet surfing, TV viewing etc.,

Please try again later.Amazon Fire TV Stick and Roku are both streaming media players which are made to plug into your TV and deliver content through applications like YouTube or services like Netflix or Amazon Video. They both have search by voice, however the Fire TV Stick has Alexa which is the Amazon assistant which gives you answers to all sorts of questions and can things like weather data, movie theater information, and wikipedia answers. Roku supports 4k content which the Fire TV stick does not. The Fire TV Stick is better for any Amazon prime member for accessing content.

With Amazon, you can get a prime membership which gives you access to not only movies but music as well as a few other benefits as well. Just really depends on your viewingredients habits. I also think the fire devices by amazon are a better buy because they are backed by amazon and if there are any issues amazon will accept a return no questions asked. I feel as the amazon devices are also built to higher standards than that of the roku.
