• In order to get the fire stick to load you need an amazon account. It can be a free account or a prime account, but you need one for it to work.

• You have to set up an amazon account. You don't have to use Amazon to use the firestick though. But there are free apps through Amazon you may want to download which is why you need to set up the account.
