As as long as the TV has a USB port (which some Tv's not considered Smart TVs have) it should work.

Absolutely, as long as you have an HDMI port and WIFi you will be fine using this. A smart TV just eliminates needing the Fire Stick for some folks as the apps they use are built into the 'Smart TV'. Hope this helps.
