If your audio worked now it doesn't....unplug your power and plug it back in! My audio was working fine then all of a sudden it didn't. Looked up fixes that involved messing with audio settings. None of them worked because my audio worked before, so the Dolby surround wasn't the issue. Do yourself a favor if your audio worked, then suddenly stopped. Unplug your Fire Stick power source, wait 30 seconds and plug it back in before messing with your audio settings. If that doesn't work then play with your audio settings which is way more time consuming.

I had the same issue and found a post somewhere else that said it's an audio setting, it was set to detect highest quality. I set the audio to stereo as recommended and and it worked fine ever since.

Try using a different HDMI port on your TV. It was the only thing that worked for me after turning the Dolby sound off, force quit the app, and cleared the apps cache.

Just reboot your firestick.

Go into settings>my fire tv>restart

And wait for your firestick to automatically turn off and restart. My problem was solved like this.

If you hear volume when it starts up but not any other time, check to see if you have bluetooth headphones that might have connected. That was my issue, spent an hour till the headphones finally died and i saw the disconnected message.

Don't waste your time. Like calling Amazon they will have you on the phone for an hour. Unless you changed your firestick or TV settings, which is very unlikely, then you have a bad firestick. I had the same problem, changed out the firestick, and then had perfect sound.

Will happily say after 2 hours of struggling to figure this out. CHANGE THE HDMI SLOT!!! I had to kinda wiggle and jam the fire stick into my hdmi2 connection. But IT WORKS NOW!!! So thank you to the person who recommended that lol.

Press and hold either the left or right side of the black circle ⚫️ After you let go the volume bar appears, simply go up or down to select volume preferences.
Then press the centre of circle to enter and you should be good to go.!

I think one of our young ones must of pressed and held it by mistake then turned the volume right down, although this took me about a week to work out, I was so glad when I got to the bottom of it.

I replaced a first edition Fire Stick with a 4K version. The 4K had no audio. I was on the phone with Amazon Tech support on two different occasions for 3 hours. No help. I read some commentary on the site, https://www.kodifiretvstick.com/firestick-not-playing-sound/, which made me try changing the audio setting to Dolby Digital. Fixed the audio problem completely!

We tried everything at first. My solution was that i had an hdmi switcher box to swap between 4 hdmi inputs. I ended up unplugging the switcher box, unplugging and replugging in my hdmi to the actual tv ports and then plugged the switcher box.

This is what worked for me and I hope it helps at least one person.

Same with me. To fix it, I had to obtain an 85W USB ac to dc converter. Then I plugged the fire stick into that.

I had the same problem at first. I plugged the fire stick into the USB port on my tv and it would play with no sound. I plug it directly to a wall outlet and it works great now. Found it wasn't getting enough power though the tv.

First make sure audio setting in firestick setting is set to standard (NOT digital dolby). If that does not work try this:
7 STEPS - How to fix: 1. unplug power to tv and firestick 2. remove firestick from hdmi port 3. wait 1 minute 4. insert firestick into hdmi port 5. plug tv back in and power on 6.select hdmi port. 7. plug firestick back in DONE (xtra: write this fix down and tape to back of TV)

Depending how old your TV is. But some TVs have advanced HDMI configuration or it maybe the TV audio is set to infernal speaker OFF. If the fireatick is not the only HDMI device not playing soumd when in that particular HDMI port. Try switching to another.

Nexr would suggest a T.V. closer to your wifi signal.

Finally ensure advanced settings of HDMI is configured for properly.
