• Some apps can stream to this device via the ChromeCast logo that appears next to it. Depending on your Cable Service Provider you may be able to find a corresponding app to either stream your entire channel lineup or just logging in to the MSNBC app (if it exists on the FireTV).

• This device only acts like a cable box, it does not provide service. If I understand your question correctly, you would still need to subscribe to a live tv provider like DirectTV Now, YouTube TV, Hulu, etc.. They are still cheaper than cable. You can then register at channels like MSNBC using that account to get full access. Works on phones, tablets and streaming devices. Not sure about desktop computer.
