You plug it into your HDMI port, power it up via a USB plug, and configure it using the remote or the app on your phone. It works like any other streamer such as Roku or Apple TV except it's more platform agnostic than Apple or Google devices.

You plug it in to your tv using USB connection and power adapter. Then you view Amazon content and movies using Amazon Prime. You can load other apps on it like Hulu, DirectVNow, YouTube, Netflix etc to stream tv shows and movies. Its a way to drop cable to watch tv using only internet connection.

It's SUPER simple. Plug it in and it walks you thru the set up. It can use your WiFi or a direct cable from your router. It has all the apps on there you need or you can down load more. If you have HBO or such, you just log into your account on the Fire TV and bang boom its on your Amazon Fire TV. BUT you have to have an account with HBO or Netflix if your going to try to watch movies via the Fire TV.
