Short answer is NO. However, there are streaming services out there that have add ons that have come a long way and I am sure that streaming live content is possible the cable companies will try and prevent that from ever happening or they will all go out of business. For Live TV get an Antenna and for streaming TV shows or movies without commercials get a streaming device. It may not be Live but you can watch all your favorite shows the same day. Do some research.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was unable to access regular tv using the voice activated remote. Probably because the input for my regular/live tv by antenna is on one input and the Fire TV is on another input.

Please try again later.Depends entirely on the app. Much like the Apple TV, many channels have their own app. You can either pay for these apps (hbo, showtime, etc) or sync them with your cable account (if you are paying for cable). That’s what we do. I’d suggest searching the App Store to see if particular channels you are interested in have apps.
