Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I just checked my router which is a Netgear NightHawk R9000 - which is configured with both 2.4Ghz & 5 Ghz bands running under the same SSID with their Smart Connect feature. When I checked in Device Manager section of my router I see that it is connected to the router's 2.4Ghz band. I didn't have any trouble configuring or connecting it. Unlike, some other smart home devices. FYI: I have had problems setting up a couple of devices that specifically mentioned "2.4ghz band only" to the network with the router set to Smart Connect mode. In which case I just temporarily disable the Smart Connect (which splits the two bands into two SSIDs and adds a -5G to the end of SSID name of the 5ghz band) Then after I've completed the setup process on this "2.4ghz only devices" - I just re-enable Smart Connect and reboot the router! I haven't had any problems connecting to the network afterwards other then when initially configuring it. Seems like a bug in their configuration software of these two devices.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It turns your outlet on and off using Alexa. Has nothing to do with 5g.
