“I live in a multi-dwelling apartment unit so i definitely need a good antenna for indoor reception. The bottom looks like it's not sturdy to stand alone on a surface it will fall over does this need to be mounted on something to stand sturdy?”

The pole at the bottom is for mounting to a vertical or horizontal surface and is optional. When assembling the antenna follow the instructions for indoor use. It will free stand with no problem. The reception is okay depending on your proximity to broadcast towers
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.hi! I installed this in my attic, and I drove two nails into a beam and hung this on the nails. So, you may want to look at perhaps using those command strips or something similar to mount on wall with minimal impact.
