I also live in a place with trees all around. I searched for the tv towers on the app sugested by manufacturer. First time I installed four feet above ground and got 17 channels. Then I installed by the side of the house overlooking the roof and got double the channels. For me is a good antenna that works among trees.

I returned the antenna and purchased a smaller antenna from the same manufacturer. I planned to use it indoors, and it was too big. I did have some occasional problems with reception using it indoors, especially in windy weather. I am not in an overly treed area, but a do have four large pine trees in my yard.

How clear your line of sight needs to be, and which antenna works best given the obstructions, depends on your location. I recommend contacting our Technical Support team so that they can run the radar plot for your location and help you find the right antenna. Technical Support can be reached via email to [email protected] or chat @ antennasdirect.com/customer-service.html. Thank you for your time!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is no set requirement, it's based on distance from the broadcaster. I'd check https://antennaweb.org/ or a similar website to identify how sensitive your antenna will need to be. You should also look to see if you will need a directional antenna instead.
