To calculate what battery system you should be using, you need to find the power draw of your water heater then utilize a calculator to determine how long it would be able to power your device. https://www.apc.com/us/en/tools/ups_selector/home/device
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I looked and didn't find any electrical power consumption specification for the takagi water heater. Also, you didn't specify the specific model you have. Therefore, I'm doing some guessing and making assumptions based on my experience with other equipment. The APC should support the electronic igniter, but the bigger issue is the fan and its power consumption. I seriously doubt this unit will power the fan for more than five minutes. If your unit includes the recirculation pump then this APC model is too under powered. You could buy a power meter and with it know your systems power demand. Armed with that information you can make a reasonable determination of what size battery backup to buy. Since you don't need super clean backup power you might want to look at battery backup devices for sump pumps and similar devices.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You have not given enough information about the heater. Find out how much power it requires (there should be a label on it somewhere), then compare that to the capacity of various battery backup units to find one that may be suitable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately we do not recommend our BackUPS units with water heater. They are designed to be ran with computer equipment. Like the other poster recommended, you would be better off with a generator with this type of setup. I apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is not the product for your application - these UPSes are meant for use with computer equipment. You should probably look into a proper generator for what you need.
