I use hotspot on my phone when traveling to get WiFi on my I iPad. Doing it now!

But, keep in mind that if you don't have the Cellular option you cannot go on the internet when away from home unless you use a public WiFi or a friends WiFi. If you get the Cellular option you may need to pay for an extra line (and data) from your Cellular provider.

The advantage is being able to access internet from anywhere, however most places have wi fi, or you can always make your phone into a "hot spot". If you think you will be using a lot of internet outside of a wi fi area, then it would be beneficial to look into the cellular component, however, I would check with your cellular carrier, and they may be able to offer you a better deal.
