No need. Set up fingerprint ID (top, right button -- "on & off" -- and like the facial ID, you're instantly recognized. You can always log on, if fingerprint ID doesn't work for some reason, with your 6-digit code (was a 4-digit code on the old iPad 6 I traded in for the new iPad 10).

Apple devices allow you to use one of three different methods for entering a password automatically: Face ID Touch ID Personal Identification Number (PIN) Basically, your phone uses Face ID so that your device can verify it is you who is using the device, and enters the password into the application or browser (Safari, Firefox, Chrome, etc) for you. On this entry-level iPad, there is no Face ID option, but you can use Touch ID (fingerprint) to do the same thing. You can USUALLY set up a PIN to replace either of those features, which acts as a failsafe: If Face ID doesn't work because you're wearing sunglasses and a mask, it will then ask for a PIN. Same thing for the Touch ID, in case you're wearing gloves or your hands aren't perfectly clean or dry.
