Can this be used for an older iPad? null

It can only by used if the iPad has the newer, smaller, lightning cable. It won't work on the first few generations of iPad.

If it is too old like 7 years, it probably won’t. Apple change their lighting conector in 2012. This cable is 8 pin, which it is new models. For the older kind it is the 30 pin which the head of the charge is a lot bigger and you have to squeeze both side of the cable so in can go in the device.

You should be able to use with any iPad model.

Only if the end is the same. Not sure adapter end has been changed this past year or not (like for iPhone 8 or X models), but the older products have a larger end and the latter, like iPod 3rd gen. and iPhone 5, have smaller end. Depending on size depends on usb cord.
