“I am trying to transfer photos from my iphone 13 to my pc and the only cable I have is the lightning cable which does not allow me to do that. What cable or adapter do i need”

First I think that you will need some software to do this as Apple does not play well with others. You should be able to plug in the USB end of the cable into your laptop. But to move the photois you may need some software that can take and adapt Apple's methods and make them work in a laptop. I have used a Flash Drive and moved photos that way. To do that you wil need a USB to lightening cable. And then I just dragged and dropped them inot the Flash drive.
