- Answer Yes, you can use it to FaceTime. You have to have an internet connection to do so; I do it at home with a wireless connection. I think some models let you use another type of connection, possibly with a cell phone carrier.

- Answer I’ve been told by repair shops that replacing anything inside an iPad involves massive destruction of the outer case rendering it garbage. Buy a new one.
