- Answer This is the 5th generation (current generation) of iPad mini. You will most likely have to buy a new case. The case from my old iPad mini (3rd generation) was about a millimeter off.

- Answer As long as it attaches via the headphone jack. I have a PayPal reader and a Square reader that both work using the headphone jack but admittedly it's been months since I've used them.
