The airpod pro 2 absolutely works has a hearing aid. That's why I bought it from my husband and he can actually hear me now instead of screaming at him down the stairs LOL

They will work as hearing aids for mild to moderate hearing loss when paired with a newer model Apple phone that is updated with the newest updates. If your hearing loss is outside their range, however, the hearing aid ability doesn't engage at all.

The pro 2 will work as hearing aids, but Apple has not released the software update yes , supposed to be later this month

It will with software upgrades coming soon.
