“Is this in any way better than the airpod pros 2 that is already out? Or is the only change the charging port becoming USB-C. In other words is this worth waiting for over the airpod pros with the lightning port”

It's an "updated" case with new model numbers for each part as well as USB-C instead of lightning, and technically it's better in that it support lossless audio when paired with Apple's Vision Pro headset (coming early 2024), whereas the lightning ones don't. But functionally, they should be more or less identical to the lightning ones except for the details I've listed above.
