Lost my case and airpods batteries are dead. How can I find out the serial number so that I can purchase a new charging case? null

You should be able to find the serial number either on the receipt/invoice or on your box that the AirPods came in. 
Once you get a new case, I'd recommend going into Settings > General > About > (Name of AirPods) and then it will show you the serial number for future use.

You cannot if you bought them at Best Buy. Best Buy does not list the serial number on the receipt. I found this out the very hard way yesterday. Apple, Target and others put the number on the receipt. 

Also Best Buy will tell you they have not heard of this being and issue........hmmmm there seems to be atleast two of us
