The unit has an Ethernet port. If your nuovo has a Ethernet port, you can connect the two with an Ethernet cable.

I have two stereo systems. On one I use the analogue stereo output from the Airport Express to go directly into the analogue stereo input on my amplifier (which has no digital optical input). On the other I use a Toslink Optical Cable with a 3.5mm connection on one end and a Full-Size connection on the other. The 3.5mm end is plugged into Airport Express in the same stereo output used for analogue output, except that, as designed, that Airport Express output also passes through the digital signal wirelessly sent to it by the computer, thereby bypassing the internal Digital Analogue Converter (DAC) in the Airport Express. The Full-Size end of the Toslink cable goes to the optical cable input of the amplifier. For amplifiers without an optical input and its internal DAC (as described first), the Airport Express can also be used with a stand-alone DAC to potentially get a better performing DAC than the one contained in the Airport Express. In this case, one would use the stand-alone DAC's analogue stereo outputs to go to the amplifier.
