Couldn't get Wi-Fi signal at all in the back of my house, once I set up the Airport Express I had great Wi-Fi connectivity. Very easy to setup also.

Still is the most elegantly simple way to stream lossless music files from your iPhone/Apple device to a good playback source that doesn’t have the most recent technologies. I have a Nakamichi SS-9 that still sounds great but lacks any wireless capabilities. So I attached an airport express to the aux input and now I can stream my lossless aiff files from my PC or from a idevice.

Apple always has a way of designing to last. I have MANY Apple products, this was super simple to sync up between my Apple desk top, laptop, Apple tv, iPad, iPhone. The simplest approach to tethering all Apple devices to an internet signal.

Maybe if I lived in a newer model home I'd get good reception. But so far no issues.

    Apple Airport Express Base Station

I bought this to expand my wireless network in my home. I have an Apple Time Capsule that covered 90% of my home. By adding the Airport Express I now cover 100% of my home as well as the front and back decks. It was so easy to set up that a novice could do it without any difficulties. I would highly recommend this product to anyone needing to expand their wireless network. It can also be used to set up a wired network, it supports airplay, has a built in firewall, and you can use it to set up wireless printing from network-connected devices.

We bought this AirPort Express to piggy back off of our AirPort Time Capsule & Base Station for our house and we absolutely love it! Its helpful for us because we have two Nest cameras (one for the front of the house and the 2nd one to cover the backyard) that wasn't really responding to the AirPort Time Capsule by itself because its a 4500 sq ft home. Was advised to get this base station and it has not failed us yet and have it both products since Oct. Thanks Apple!

I own 4 Airport Express mini routers to stream audio. I can have all on at once or select one, two, or three rooms. Will work with any old stereo with 3.5, RCA, or Toslink connectors. Works perfectly with my iMac, iPhone, and iPad. Easy to set up and extends my wifi to max signal in every room also. No wires running around the house and can be moved anytime. Much better than bluetooth with no dropped signal. Nice review on kenrockwell.com.

    Family room wi-fi works great!

We are an Apple Household... 5 IPhones, 5 IPads, 2 Macs, so I needed something to extend wi-fi into the family room. I chose the AirPort because it is Apple. So it replaced anther wi-fi extender that never worked well and I had to program it to get it to work as well as it did. I plugged this into a Gigabit switch that I use to run the home theater components with and plugged it in. I used my IPhone to program it (naming the system) and it was done. Very easy and works great! You can plug it into a router, switch or use it to pick up a wi-fi signal and give you an switched output and wi-fi output. I only use it as a stand alone wi-fi that is plugged into a switch that is plugged into my router. Now for the best news my son-in-law is a Droid man thru and thru and it works with his Samsung just fine. I took my PC tablet into the room and had no issues either, so this is not just for an Apple... I have had it running for two months now and no glitches! No resets, power offs, or reprogramming is needed so far. I like this unit very much!!!

Admittedly, I would choose Apple products over just about any other brand. I'm biased. However, this router has excellent range, it's super easy to get up and running. It's very fast! Bridging two together couldn't be more simple, and it will even work with other brand routers. All around awesome router.

    Upgrading from older version

I've been running on an airport express for years. I have to say, I've always been impressed with the ease of use, great reliability, and excellent speed. I upgraded because the speed I am paying for finally outpaced the capability of the older airport express. I purchased the newer version, plugged it in, and got online. The only set-up required was naming the unit (using software already installed on my iMac) and creating a password. As with the previous airport express, this thing is super simple and screaming fast. It cost a few dollars more than 3rd party wireless routers, but knowing it will work and knowing the simplicity of set-up was well worth the extra dollars.

These are great wireless option for anyone! If you know nothing of the IT world, it walks you through step by step! If you are advanced in the IT world the options are endless. Oh! And you Do NOT need apple products for this to work! I have both (Apple and windows) and it works great with both of them! And the only down time I have had was during a power outage! I don't have to power cycle like I did my linksys router! I am so in love with these that I have set them up in all my family members homes!!!!

I needed to extend the range of my wireless network. I currently have the Apple Airport Extreme but it was not quite enough. The Airport Express Base Station is small and compact so I just plugged it in under an armoire on the 2nd floor. My Apple ID found it right away and the instructions for set up were easy to follow. I've had this for a few months and it is working seamlessly.

Great Router for On the Go

This is a great router, but I would expect a few more ports on the back and at least AC capabilities. I love the features that Apple includes with their products such as WPS pushing within the computer program, and also the ease of using this with an AirPlay setup. They have done a great job, but they must have cut corners to keep costs down or to encourage people to buy the higher grade Extreme version. Overall I suggest this to people needing a router to use on the go in hotel rooms, as a wifi range extender, or to use for Airplay. I would not recommend making this your mainstream home router.

Reliable wireless bridge, easy setup for Mac users

I can't comment about this as a router, but I am extremely happy with this as a wireless bridge from my Apple Airport Extreme to my home entertainment center's A/V receiver. Despite the heftier price tag than other brands like Netgear, it works reliably without speed drop-offs or the need to reboot often, and it's compact enough to hide away in the living room. It also supports both 2.4 and 5 GHz frequencies giving you options in case your home is better suited for 5 GHz (mine's not in certain rooms). Setup is quite easy with Apple's Airport Utility. I understand that lots of users prefer a web interface to administer their routers, and I would too if I were on Windows, but I'm on Mac and the Airport Utility is the right fit on OS X. The only thing stopping me from giving 5 stars is a nitpick: Apple changed the form factor so that the AC plug is now a wire instead of a detachable plug head that made the earlier generation of Airport Express easy to hang directly on the wall at the outlet. You can substitute that plug in to the current generation Express and still hang the whole unit from the wall, but it obstructs the WAN port to attach your broadband device for router mode; the LAN port is not obstructed, so still usable for wireless bridge mode. It was also nice that Best Buy price-matched Amazon.com, saving me a few dollars.

If you need an Apple wireless router that provides a solid wireless connection this is a great choice. You must have a Mac computer or iOS device (iPhone or iPad) to set up and work with this router. It takes very little management to run and set up. It is also great for streaming audio through to an existing stereo or boosting an existing wireless signal from another Apple branded router. I have used many of these and highly recommend this product! Drawback is price, but benefit is ease of use, reliability, and flexibility if within the Apple ecosystem.

My parents had been using a cheap WiFi router for the past few years and despite loading some well-regarded custom firmware, the unit would keep dropping signal every couple days and had to be power-cycled to get it back. I wanted to replace the router but I wanted something that was just going to work, that wasn't going to take a lot of configuration and tweaking. I decided on the Apple AirPort express because of the excellent reviews, ease of use, and potential for decent support. I set the new AirPort up using my iPhone 6 in a matter of minutes. They have had the router for several weeks now and have been very happy with the performance. Not one drop or reboot required. I'm very happy with the purchase.
