This is a tricky question based upon how the wi-fi is setup. However, the entire HomePod mini setup is completed via your phone, so you should be good since it will get all access information for wi-fi shared from your phone. As far as connecting with others, it is possible if you don't change the settings. In the Home app (on iPhone) there is an option for it be available for anyone on the wi-fi network or just people inside your Home. You want the settings for people only in your Home so others can't play stuff on your HomePod mini.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As long as it’s on WiFi then it will work. From what I can tell if your phone is already on WiFi it will get the WiFi from that no code or login requirement. Apple is a master at doing that. Hope it helps

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The HomePod Mini must be activated by someone with an iPhone. Others with iPhones or iPads, even Macs can then be invited to join. As far as I know, other HomePods must be activated with the same Apple ID for them to work together. The main advantage would be to send the same music to all speakers. Another wold be as an intercom to all apartments with HomePods. That is also a disadvantage. I personally do not recommend it as a full time operation. Might be awesome for the occasional block party. Be aware that anyone could change the music from dance to classical just by telling Siri to do that. Could lead to arguments.
