What is the difference between "WIFI" & "WIFI+ Unlocked" for an ipad?

You would just need to purchase the “WiFi” version for your useage. The WiFi unlocked would be used for internet + a cell phone carrier. If you did purchase the WiFi + unlocked with no cell phone carrier, you could still use the IPad using the internet with no problem.

WI-FI is Wi-Fi only; WI-FI + unlocked has a SIM card and cellular antenna that allows you to subscribe for cellular data.

You only need the WiFi version, you do not need the cellular versions i.e. the $330 Ipad is fine for what you need.

The WIFI model will only be able to connect to the internet using WIFI. The WIFI+Unlocked model includes a cellular antenna that can be used when a sim card is inserted. You would need to purchase the WIFI only model if you do not intend to use it with a sim card.
